What Career and Technology Courses May Count for Technology Applications
Graduation Credit?

Recent changes to 19 TAC Chapter 74, Subchapter A, Required Curriculum, require school districts to offer four of the eight Technology Applications courses in Chapter 126. There have been no changes to the list of courses satisfying the Technology Applications graduation credit in 19 TAC, Chapter 74, Subchapter B, Graduation Requirements. Students may still fulfill the graduation requirement for one credit in Technology Applications by taking Career and Technology courses that have been approved to fulfill the Technology Applications credit.

School districts are required to offer four of the eight Technology Applications courses, but students have the flexibility to choose between courses from Career and Technology Education and Technology Applications to fulfill the Technology Applications graduation requirement.

Under 19 TAC, Chapter 74, Subchapter A, Required Curriculum, the following Technology Applications courses count for the required one graduation credit in Technology Applications. School districts must offer at least four of the following eight Technology Applications courses (Chapter 126):

Only courses taken for 1 credit may count for the Technology Applications Credit. No other Career and Technology courses may count for Technology Applications Credit.
