In 2009, best practices were collected from Exemplary, Recognized, and Academically Acceptable schools and districts demonstrating improvement in student performance and/or school/district operations. In addition, the Clearinghouse prioritized collection of best practices in the areas of college and career readiness programs, dropout prevention and recovery, and strategies for teaching English language learners.
