The purpose of this application is to solicit grant applications from eligible applicants to establish a beginning teacher induction and mentoring program or to enhance an existing mentoring program that will:

  • provide support and ongoing professional development for beginning teachers;
  • improve beginning teacher performance and effectiveness to support student achievement;
  • provide support and training for mentor teachers;
  • provide training to administrators to support beginning teachers and mentors; and, increase beginning teacher retention.
   
Grant Period: May 1, 2008 – February 28, 2010
