Texas High School Redesign and Restructuring Grant Program
The
Texas Education Agency (TEA) is pleased to inform you that the following applications have been preliminarily selected to receive a grant for the Texas High School Redesign and Restructuring Grant Program.
The purpose of the Texas High School Redesign and Restructuring Grant program is to provide low-performing high school campuses with the resources to build capacity for implementing innovative, schoolwide initiatives designed to improve student performance on the campus. Additionally, this grant seeks to create a demonstration project that will provide case studies and models for successful practices in turning around low-performing high schools. The primary goals of this grant program are to:
Correct the specific area of unacceptable performance identified in the campus accountability rating;
Increase overall student achievement;
Raise academic standards and expectations for all students;
Demonstrate innovative management and instructional practices;
Ensure that every student is taught by a highly quailed, effective teachers;
Develop leadership capacity in principals and other school leaders; and,
Engage parents and the community in school activities.
