Texas High School Completion and Success Grant, Cycle 2

 

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is pleased to inform you that the following applications have been preliminarily selected to receive a grant for Cycle 2 of the Texas High School Completion and Success Grant Program. This preliminary selection was made based on independent review by educators, parents, and members of the business community, TEA staff, and education stakeholders from across the state.

Program
Description:

The Texas High School Completion and Success Grant Program is an intervention grant focused on positively impacting student performance. Its goals are:

  • Increase student achievement, as evidenced through improved TAKS scores and increased credit accrual;
  • Increase the number of students who graduate in 4 years after entering 9th grade, and; and
  • Increase the number of students who graduate college-ready, as demonstrated through credit accrual, Advanced Placement (AP)/International Baccalaureate (IB) and dual credit participation, and enrollment in rigorous coursework in a college-preparatory curriculum.

   
Grant Period: October 1, 2004 - August 31, 2006.

Agency staff will thoroughly review each application to determine that it is in compliance with all applicable program statutes, rules, and regulations and that the identified program goals and activities meet the intent of the authorizing legislation and Request for Application. Once this determination has been made and it is confirmed that the application is indeed eligible to be funded, Agency staff may be contacting the designated program contact person to negotiate changes to the application.
