Accountability Development Materials: As the advisory groups meet, documents from those meetings, and meeting outcomes are posted on this website. Note that documents marked FOR DISCUSSION do not contain final decisions about the rating system. As outlined in the Timeline, the commissioner will make final accountability decisions in late March 2014.
Timeline for the development of the 2014 accountability system.
Accountability Technical Advisory Committee (ATAC). This committee will consider complex, technical issues related to assessment and accountability and will make recommendations for the state accountability system. They are educators at districts and Education Service Centers who have detailed knowledge of the current assessment and accountability systems and how data are currently used to evaluate campuses and districts.
Accountability Policy Advisory Committee (APAC). This committee will consider policy issues related to accountability and will make recommendations for the state accountability system. They are members of professional and business organizations and legislative staff.
Academic Achievement Distinction Designation Committee (AADDC) will develop criteria and recommendations for the academic achievement distinction designations under the Texas Education Code (TEC) 39.203(c). Members of the AADDC are professionals, content experts, educators, and community leaders appointed by the Offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
