Special Education Data

  1. Number of Students with Disabilities Receiving Special Education Services
    States are required to report their "Child Count" to the U.S. Department of Education each year as part of the Annual Federal Data Report. The Child Count is the number of students with disabilities receiving special education services. The State collects this data (primary disability) on the last Friday in October (Fall Snapshot Date) through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS).

  2. Educational Environment of Students with Disabilities Receiving Special Education Services

    States are required to report the educational environment or placement to the U.S. Department of Education each year as part of the Annual Federal Data Report. . The State collects this data on the last Friday in October (Fall Snapshot Date) through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS)
