II. Educational Environment of Students with Disabilities Receiving Special Education Services

States are required to report the educational environment or placement to the U.S. Department of Education each year as part of the Annual Federal Data Report. The State collects this data on the last Friday in October (Fall Snapshot Date) through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS).

Crosswalk
The State developed a "crosswalk" in order to map how Texas PEIMS Instructional Arrangement Codes align to the federal definitions for Educational Environments for students ages 3-5. Definitions for the PEIMS Instructional Arrangements are in the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook

Children who received ALL (100%) of their special education and related services in educational programs designed primarily for children without disabilities. No special education or related services are provided in separate special education settings.
