Who can access SPEARS?
Originally, SPEARS was designed to provide statewide and regional reports to the general public. Recent guidance from the USDE Office of Special Education Programs and Family Policy Compliance Office has required the TEA to limit access to SPEARS to Texas Education Agency Security Environment (TEASE) account holders. TEASE Account Holders include personnel at TEA, ESC and school districts. These personnel are permitted to access confidential student level data SPEARS generates.

Use the links below to request TEASE access or login to SPEARS:

To apply for TEASE access to use SPEARS:

1. Automated TEASE Form for those requesting access to a single district or region: https://seguin.tea.state.tx.us/appsng/um/apply.aspx

2. Paper TEASE Form for those requesting access to multiple districts in a Shared Service Arrangement (SSA): http://www.tea.state.tx.us/forms/tease/spears_ext.htm
