The third bullet now reads: "Although generally not considered to be the responsibility of IDEA programs, personal devices such as eyeglasses or hearing aids may have to be provided if necessary for the child to meet the goals in their IFSP/IEP or to obtain a developmental or educational benefit, and no other payment source is available."

Technical Assistance
Each of the twenty regional education service centers (ESC) in Texas has a contact person who provides technical assistance in the area of students with visual impairments (VI) and a contact person who provides technical assistance in the area of students with auditory impairments(AI). The ESCs are the first point of contact for any technical assistance regarding special education and related services to students with disabilities, including students with visual and/or auditory impairments.
