SUBJECT: List of Approved Tests for Assessment of Limited English
Proficient Students
The Texas Education Agency has completed the annual review of
approved tests for use in the identification of students of limited
English proficiency as well as entry/exit from bilingual education
and special language programs (19 TAC §89.1225(d) relating to
Testing and Classification of Students). Enclosed is the List of
Approved Tests for the Assessment of Limited English Proficient
Students for the year 2001. The instruments on the list are grouped
in the following categories:
· Oral Language Proficiency Tests in English
· Oral Language Proficiency Tests in Spanish
· Reading and Writing Proficiency Tests in English
· Reading and Writing Proficiency Tests in Spanish
· Standardized Achievement Tests in English
· Standardized Achievement Tests in Spanish
