TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ADDRESSED:
SUBJECT: 20112012 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will open the 20112012 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application in eGrants on or about June 6, 2011.
Local educational agencies (LEAs) providing special education services to eligible children through a special education program and/or Regional Day School Program for the Deaf may apply, provided that the LEA is eligible and has received a 20112012 allocation for any of the eight programs listed below. State agencies providing special education services may also qualify.
Allocations for the 20112012 special education programs will be available for eligible applicants who received a special education entitlement for the 2010-2011 school year and are compliant with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requirement for LEA Maintenance of Effort (MOE). Allocations will be available on or before June 6, 2011, to LEAs online at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index4.aspx?id=5040&menu_id=2147483678.
How to Apply
Eligible applicants must apply through the eGrants system. Applicants must have appropriate Texas Education Agency Secure Environment (TEA SE) access. Applicants who do not have TEA SE access for eGrants should visit the TEA SE Information Center online at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/opge/egrant/index.html. An overview of the TEA SE online request process can be found at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/opge/egrant/eGrantsOverview.pdf. For further assistance, please contact the eGrants Help Desk by telephone at (512) 463-7025 or via email at email@example.com.
Deadline to Apply
Eligible applicants must apply through the eGrants system by 5:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday, September 12, 2011. Applications are effective on the date they are received in TEA in substantially approvable form or on July 1, 2011, whichever is later.
The following table lists reporting deadlines for programs approved in the 20112012 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application. LEAs that are awarded grants are responsible for meeting all required deadlines. Failure to meet deadlines may result in loss of funds and could cause the LEA to be identified as high risk.
