May 24, 2010 TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ADDRESSED: SUBJECT: 2010-2011 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application The 2010-2011 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application will open in eGrants on May 25, 2010. Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies (LEAs) providing special education services to eligible children through a special education program and/or Regional Day School Program for the Deaf may apply, provided that the LEA has received a 2010-2011 allocation for any of the eight programs listed below. State agencies providing special education services may also qualify.
Allocations Allocations for the 2010-2011 special education programs will be available on May 25, 2010 to LEAs online at http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/opge/formfund/generalinformation/entitlementsbyprogram.html. How to Apply Eligible applicants must apply through the eGrants system. Applicants must have appropriate Texas Education Agency Secure Environment (TEA SE) access. Applicants who do not have TEA SE access for eGrants should visit the TEA SE Information Center online at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/opge/egrant/index.html. An overview of the TEA SE online request process can be found at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/opge/egrant/eGrantsOverview.pdf. Deadline to Apply Eligible applicants must apply through the eGrants system by 5:00 p.m. Central Time, Wednesday, September 10, 2010. Applications are effective on the date they are received in TEA in substantially approvable form or on July 1, 2010, whichever is later.Reporting Deadlines The following table lists reporting deadlines for programs approved in the 2010-2011 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application. LEAs that are awarded grants are responsible for meeting all required deadlines. Failure to meet deadlines may result in loss of funds and could cause the LEA to be identified as “high risk.”
