March 9, 2000 TO THE SUPERINTENDENT ADDRESSED: On November 22, 1999, administrators were notified of a change in the 2000 Accountability Ratings regarding the minimum size criteria for inclusion in the ratings. That letter stated:
However, upon further consideration, the Texas Education Agency has determined that this change will not occur in the 2000 accountability ratings cycle. Instead, this proposal will be formally presented to the Commissioner's Task Force on Accountability for their review and recommendations pertaining to 2001 and beyond. Therefore, for 2000, minimum size requirements applied to rating and additional acknowledgement indicators will be identical to those applied in past years. These details are provided in the Accountability Manual, published annually. The 2000 Accountability Manual will be provided to all superintendents and principals by early April. If you have any questions concerning this change, please contact Dr. Criss Cloudt, Associate Commissioner for Policy Planning and Research at (512) 463-9701, or the Division of Performance Reporting at (512) 463-9704. Sincerely, |
