TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ADDRESSED:

SUBJECT:            Application for Federal Funding for 2000-2001 (SAS-A200-01)

The Standard Application System (SAS) will be used to apply for funding under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act for the fund sources listed above.  The following items are enclosed.

  • One Application for Federal Funding (Form SAS-A200-01)

  • One set of instruction

  • Notices of funding amounts

The effective date of the application (SAS-A200-01) will be July 1, 2000, or the stamp-in date the application is received in substantially approvable form in the Division of Student Support Programs, whichever is later.  A local education agency (LEA) may not obligate funds or receive services under the SAS‑A200-01 prior to the effective date of the application.  The last date on which an original application (SAS-A200-01) for project year 2000-2001 funds will be accepted is September 1, 2000.  This deadline also applies to Shared Service Arrangements seeking to add member LEAs through the amendment process.

The Notice of Grant Award for the SAS-A200-01 will not be mailed if the following items have not been processed or resolved:

¨       final expenditures
¨      
any independent audit exception
¨      
comparability of services (Title I, Part A)
¨      
maintenance of effort
¨      
Gun-Free Schools Report for 1999-2000 (SSP-445R00)

 A workshop has been scheduled at the Spring Conference of the Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin, Texas on April 19 from 1:00-5:00 pm.  Workshop participants will be required to pay the ACET Conference registration fee.  A copy of the SAS and Instructions will be provided.

Workshops on the SAS-A200-01 application have also been scheduled from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for the following dates and locations.  A copy of the SAS and Instructions will not be provided; therefore, participants MUST bring their own SAS and Instructions to the workshop.  There is no registration fee for these workshops; however, if attending, please e-mail the number of attendees and the workshop site to:  ssp@tea.state.tx.us
