Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies (LEAs) providing deaf education services to eligible children through a Regional Day School Program for the Deaf may apply, provided that the LEA has received a 2010-2011 allocation for IDEA-B Discretionary Deaf. State agencies providing deaf education services may also qualify. Allocations Allocations for the 2010-2011 IDEA-B Discretionary Deaf programs will be available on June1, 2010 to LEAs online at http:ritter.tea.state.tx.us/opge/formfund/generalinformation/entitlementsbyprogram.html. How to Apply Eligible applicants must apply through the eGrants system. To apply, applicants must have appropriate Texas Education Agency Secure Environment (TEA SE) access. Applicants who do not have TEA SE access for eGrants should visit the TEA SE Information Center online at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/opge/egrant/index.html. An overview of the TEA SE online request process can be found at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/opge/egrant/eGrantsOverview.pdf. If you need further assistance, please contact the eGrants Help Desk by telephone at (512) 463-7025 or via e-mail at egrants@tea.state.tx.us. Deadline to Apply Eligible applicants must apply through the eGrants system by 5:00 p.m. Central Time, Friday, September 10, 2010. Applications are effective on the date they are received in TEA in substantially approvable form or on July 1, 2010, whichever is later. Reporting Deadlines The following table lists reporting deadlines for programs approved in the 2010-2011 IDEA-B Discretionary Deaf Grant Application. LEAs that are awarded grants are responsible for meeting all required deadlines. Failure to meet deadlines may result in loss of funds and could cause the LEA to be identified as “high risk.”
