SUBJECT:  2009–2010 NCLB Title I School Improvement Program (SIP) Academy Roll Only Grant Application

The application for the 2009–2010 NCLB Title I School Improvement Program (SIP) Academy Roll Only Grant opened in eGrants on Monday, October 26, 2009.

Special Note
The 2009-2010 NCLB Title I School Improvement Program (SIP) Academy Roll Only funds in this application are not subject to the SIP Academy Grant changes discussed in the August 17, 2009, letter from the Agency.

Purpose of Program
The Title I School Improvement Program provides supplemental funds to LEAs to help schools identified for school improvement, corrective action, or restructuring provide a high quality education which will enable all children to meet the state student performance standards.

Eligible Applicants
Only campuses with unexpended funds from the 2008-2009 NCLB Title I SIP Academy grant are eligible to apply.

Project Period
The application will be effective on the date it is received by TEA in a substantially approvable form.  Pre-award costs will be allowed for the Title I SIP Academy roll only grant back to July 1, 2009.  Pre-award costs specifically requested in the application will be allowed as approved by TEA.

Deadline to Apply
Eligible applicants must apply through the eGrants system by Friday, December 11, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

How to Apply
Eligible applicants must apply through the eGrants system. In order to apply, applicants must have appropriate Texas Education Agency Secure Environment (TEA SE) access.  Applicants who do not have TEA SE access for eGrants should visit the TEA SE web page online at:  http://www.tea.state.tx.us/opge/egrant/index.html.  An overview of the TEA SE online request process can be found online at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/opge/egrant/eGrantsOverview.pdf.  If further assistance is needed, please call the eGrants Help Desk at (512) 463-7025 or email egrants@tea.state.tx.us.

Accessing ADC/Grant Application
The Applicant Designation and Certification (ADC) form for the 2009–2010 NCLB Title I SIP Academy Roll Only Grant Application will open in eGrants on Monday, October 26, 2009. Applicants must select “Apply on Own” in the ADC form in order for the grant application to open. Applicants may locate the ADC form through TEA SE on eGrants as follows:

  1. Open the dropdown list titled “Available Grant Programs in eGrants.”
  2. From the dropdown list, select the entry titled “2009–2010 NCLB Title I SIP Academy Roll Only Grant Application.”
  3. On the Grant Menu screen select “Applicant Designation and Certification.”

 

Reporting Deadlines
Reporting deadlines for the 2009-2010 NCLB Title I SIP Academy Roll Only are listed in the following table. Local education agency (LEA) campuses that are awarded grants are responsible for meeting all required deadlines. Failure to meet deadlines may result in loss of funds and could cause the LEA to be identified as “high risk.”
