December 21, 2011

TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ADDRESSED:

SUBJECT:      2011-2012 Maximum Entitlements -Special Education Consolidated Grant Application

Maximum Entitlements

Maximum entitlements for programs in the 2011–2012 Special Education Grant Application will be available on or around January 16, 2012, on the Division of Grants Administration Federal Entitlements web page, online at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index4.aspx?id=5040&menu_id=2147483678.
A local educational agency (LEA) may amend its eGrants application to budget for its maximum entitlement and/or carryover/roll forward. If an LEA has not submitted an amendment by May 2012, Texas Education Agency (TEA) staff will revise the LEA’s budget for the respective grant by adding the 2011–2012 maximum entitlement funding to the LEA’s largest budgeted class/object code. TEA will email the revised budgets and Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) to applicable LEAs.

Amendments

If necessary, once an LEA receives email notification of the revisions to the program budget, it may file to revise the budget entered by TEA staff. Please refer to the 2011-2012 eGrants Schedule of Instructions for the Special Education Consolidated Grant Application (pp. 9–13) to determine if an amendment is necessary.
The deadline to submit amendments is 5:00 p.m. Central Time, June 15, 2012.

Reporting Deadlines

The following table lists reporting deadlines for programs approved in the 2011-2012 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application. LEAs that are awarded grants are responsible for meeting all required deadlines.
Failure to meet deadlines may result in loss of funds and could cause the LEA to be identified as “high risk.”
