Re:  Optional Flexible School Day Program

For the 2007-08 school year, the deadline for requesting permission to participate in the Optional Flexible School Day Program (OFSDP) is December 15, 2007.  The recently adopted Texas Administrative Code (TAC) rules state that requests must be made at least 90 days prior to the beginning of the school year.  Because the rules were not effective until July 4, 2007, the deadline is being extended to allow all districts the opportunity to participate.  This waiver of the deadline is effective ONLY for the upcoming 2007-08 school year.  If you have questions about the program, please contact Kathryn Jones at 512-463-9238 or kathryn.jones@tea.state.tx.us .
