TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ADDRESSED:

Subject: Updated 2003-04 Summary of Finances (SOFs)

Please check our web site for your information needs related to the funding provided by the state through the Division of State Funding. http://www.tea.state.tx.us/school.finance/index.html

The updated Summary of Finances and related reports for the 2003-04 school year have been updated to our web site at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/school.finance/funding/sofweb3.html. This summary reflects the following since the summary was generated in March 2005:

Transportation Allocation: The district’s latest 2003-04 transportation allotment as calculated from the data submitted on the 2003-04 Route Services Report is reflected on this SOF. If the district did not submit the Route Services Report, the transportation allocation has been set to zero.

Existing Debt Allotment: A report entitled Calculation of Existing Debt Allotment that indicates the latest 2003-04 Debt Service Payment on Line 5 of this report is also updated. This allocation will be recalculated if any changes occur for the Debt Service Payment on Line 5, and IFA State/Local share on line 6 of this report.

Other: In addition, the latest Instructional Facilities Allotments, revised student FTEs from the Texas School for the Deaf, and New Instructional Facilities Allotments are included in this summary.

Please note the “Projected Balance as of 8/31/04” amount indicated on page 5 of this summary. This amount represents the effect this recalculation of state aid had on the district. If this is a positive amount, the refund will be sent to the district’s depository in the near future. If this is a negative amount, the recovery will be made by reducing the monthly payments from the 2004-05 Foundation School Fund, beginning with the May 2005 payment or the district’s next scheduled payment.

If you have any questions concerning these materials, please do not hesitate to contact the Division of State Funding at (512) 463-9238.

Sincerely,

Robert N. Jocius, Senior Director
Division of State Funding
