TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ADDRESSED:

SUBJECT: Reporting Final (Cumulative) Expenditures for Federal Projects Administered by the Division of Student Support Programs

Local Education Agencies (LEAs) should report final (cumulative) expenditures through WEB-ER by July 17, 2000. Approval of school year 2000-2001 projects is dependent upon receipt of the LEA's final (cumulative) expenditures for school year 1999-2000.

LEAs that implement a summer program or have 12-month employees may report final (cumulative) expenditures through WEB-ER no later than August 15, 2000. Before submitting final (cumulative) expenditures, please ensure that as of June 30, 2000, salaries have been recorded using the modified accrual basis of accounting.

Revised Final Expenditure Report

The deadline for reporting revised final (cumulative) expenditures is September 15, 2000. Revised final (cumulative) expenditures reported after September 15, 2000, will not be used for cash disbursement or for determining roll-forward calculations. No exceptions will be granted.

If the LEA is unable to access WEB-ER on September 15, 2000, the LEA must fax a letter to the Division of Student Support Programs at (512) 305-9447 stating the LEA's final (cumulative) expenditures for the 1999-2000, school year. The letter should be addressed to Mr. Royce Pietsch. Faxes received after September 15, 2000, will NOT be accepted.

Reminder: Upon completion of the Certification Panel on the WEB-ER, remember to click on "certify" at the bottom of the screen. Failure to "certify" will prevent the final (cumulative) expenditures from being transmitted to TEA.

Should you have questions concerning this matter, please contact Mr. Royce Pietsch at (512) 463-9393 or Ms. Connie Wilhite at (512) 475-3623 in the Division of Student Support Programs.

Sincerely,
Terry Lyons
Manager II
for the Division of Student Support Programs
